Directors Statement:
There are stories hidden in our historic cinemas, if we listen. These spaces are at risk because they are no longer of commercial interest. It is true that our grand, daresay 'cinematic', arthouses are in decline but their rebirth is just as inevitable as the death that faces them. This is a story about the transition from one life to another. As a transgender artist, this phase is familiar to me; in transitioning one must let go of What Has Been and enter the limbo of What is Yet To Be. The moving image (and the body) may change beyond recognition but it cannot die outright. What lies ahead is a greater, more expansive form than was ever imaginable. - Sam Carson, 2022
